Department
The Department of Security in Data Processing Technologies was established by the order of the rector of Taganrog State Radio Engineering University. The chair of the department is Oleg B. Makarevich, Doctor of Engineering Science, Professor, honoured scientist of Russian Federation. The main staff of the department was the personnel of Research Institute of computing systems. Now there are 34 employees. Professors and associate professors read more than 20 courses for 090103 and 090104 specialities. (090103 -“Informational Security ” and 090104 - “Complex Information Protection”). Laboratory works and practices are conducted in 4 laboratory classes of the department. Our students participate in research works, different conferences concerning the research area of the department. The South-Russian regional scientific-educational center of information security problems in the system of Higher School of education, the Scientific-educational center “Systems of information security” and the Design center of biometrical authentication problems function on the base of the department.
Every year since 1999 the South-Russian regional scientific-educational center of information security problems in the system of Higher School of education organizes the theoretical and practical conferences “Information security – South Region of Russia”.
The department liaises with key universities: Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, Russian State University for the Humanities, St. Petersburg polytechnic university; South Region Institutes of higher education of Russia: Stavropol State University, Kabardino-Balkaria State University, North Caucasus State Technical University, Research Studies Institute of applied mathematics and automatization and Institute of information science and regional management problems of KBSU of Russian Academy of Science; and such enterprises as: ZAO RNT, Russian Scientific Research Institute of management automatization in the nonproductive sphere, Krasnodar branch of the Scientific and technical center “Atlas”, ZAO InfoTex, scientific production center “Orion”, FSUE “Concern “Systemprom”, Russian Institute of Space Device Engineering and Federal Service on Technical and Export Control of Russian Federation.
